Creating a Display Board

After seeing all of the armies on hand at Adepticon, I knew I had to step up my game and begin working on my display board. Its not finished yet, however I did get a good start on it this weekend. Its using a whiteboard as a base (upside down), based with a white glue and water mixture (70/30), and then primed completely black before being painted. Ive added a few elements like the barrels and gas cans, though there is more to come. I need to find a better way of getting the building added into the mix, but its a must have to add some additional dimension to the board.

DWing Librarian and Forgeworld

You Shall Not Pass! And with 6th edition revisions coming, form what Ive heard librarians powers will get a redo, something which the dark angels need badly... For now, this beast will be my count as Belial (as he is next to get painted).

Ive also got my hands on my first, and favorite forge world model! Its in the mail as we speak, and I hope to get it in the next 1-2 weeks. As soon as I get my hands on it, you'll be the second to see it. Check out the goodness...

Action Shots in the wild!

I was inspired today to try and photograph minis in the wild after seeing this site in which a guy set up professional shots with star wars lego minis. I'm going to spend some time trying to replicate some of his technique, given I think those types of shots would like great with 40k painted minis. I spent about 30 seconds capture these shots this morning, just playing around. I think with some work with the camera and some staging, I can get some wild looking photos. Perhaps ill get the minis of their bases and go from there. More to come!

Chainfist and Flamers

Progress has slowed, however I continue to trudge along on the Deathwing. This week I introduce slash and burn, a specialist in opening up those heretical rhinos and torching the squad inside! I'm especially happy how the yellow hazard stripes turned out. I continue to stress the key in painting yellow, base coat it in bronzed flesh and then slap the yellow atop it, makes it really stand out in a single coat!
